It began innocent enough. Desperate for peace and security she decided to join. Peacemakers International offered something for everyone, everyone seeking peace that was. This was her last ditch attempt at peace. International Peacemakers was the place for people devoid of serenity. She’d been approved for membership even after her stint at worry-aholics and stress anonymous. She expected the members of Peace International to look like 70′s dolls dressed sloppily in tie dye. But alas, the group was as diverse as the cheese section at Whole Foods.
The meeting was called to order. PEACE was introduced. The new members laughed. Of course., PEACE couldn’t be in the room.
PEACE stood and serenity flowed into every heart. A hush silenced all worry as anxiety scurried under the carpet. PEACE thanked each new member for opening the door to her. She had agreed with Peace International to take up residence inside each new members heart, on one condition. The condition was before PEACE could move in each member had to kick out the hooligans of worry, anxiety and stress.
PEACE was dead serious. The new members could entertain worry, stress and anxiety on the porch but they would have to agree to never invite the hooligans inside their hearts and minds again if they wanted PEACE to stay.
Its not so much what knocks… but rather what you let in…
