When loneliness strikes, can I hold your hand?
When it threatens to send you running into the arms of so many that promise to help you feel cherished and adored but always end up leaving you feeling more alone than before- will you reach for my hand?
When challenges isolate you and whisper the lie that you don’t belong will you grip the hand of faith even tighter than before?
Loneliness is not your destiny, my dear. You were created for intimacy and the most intimate relationship is that between your soul and my spirit.
Take my hand and fill up on the spiritual soul food that drives loneliness away.
I know every detail about you and every cell is was hand picked to create the masterpiece you are.
You are not alone but absolutely unique.
I’m leading you into deeper community. So hold my hand and follow my lead.
I am right here in the middle of this restless night.
And standing beside you as these worries fill your head.
I will be here when daylight emerges even if it’s later than you’d expected.
Companionship is the gift I bring to your heart each day.
Unwrap it as you hold my hand and press into the depths of knowing that come when we travel this life together hand in hand.
How were you to know that you could travel alone and yet be entirely complete and one with ME?
When loneliness threatens, close your eyes and feel my loving embrace.
Lonely only comes when you let go of my hand, dear child.
Now follow after me hand in hand. There is no power capable of robbing you of the completeness and peace that comes from holding my hand throughout this journey.
Hold on when the path before you grows steeper than you believe you can bare.
And when day refuses to come, grip tightly.
Feel my indwelling oneness when people leave your life.
And when loneliness whispers you don’t matter- remind her that I created you and that you dear child came equipped to this earth with an eternal companion and most intimate life partner.
Oh dear child.
Loneliness is not your destiny.
You were created to commune with me- so hold my hand and let me fill you with my abundant stores of peace, wholeness and belonging. Oh dear child-can I hold your hand?
I’m grateful for all the times you- GOD- have taken my hand and reminded me I’m yours- regardless of who else shows up, departs or joins my team. I am yours and this – well this is the deepest knowing I have known- your spirit filling me up and convincing me that you – you – divine and all powerful are enough.
I love this photo it reminds me of when my daughter was young and she and her little girlfriends would hold hands during bitty soccer games. Oh the joys of companionship and friends. ….Grab someone’s hand…go ahead- just do it.
